My gateway is 192.168.0.1 but when I do a search on my network I am given an IP address of 192. 168.0.252 that reads it's an Arris modem but the modem I got from my provider cogeco reads 192.168.0.252. When I call the provider they tell me they dont know what it could be and that I only have one modem which is 192.168.0.1. At times I cab ping this up address other times I cant. It doesnt show that it's a gateway like the 192.168.0.252. Could u tell me what this could be as I have taken everything of my network and am left in awh as to what it could be

Software/Hardware used:

More information is needed. Is this your office/ personal? How many users are connected there? Have you tried tracert command?

We have no way to know anything about what goes on in your network... assuming that your router/modem is even minimally secured against access from the outside. And if it isn't, then it's probably already so badly compromised that it needs a full factory reset and anything attached inside is possibly also needing serious attention.

Since our knowledge of your network is zero, no, we can't guess anything about what the additional IP address might be. A neighbor's phone? A modern refrigerator? A satellite dish box? Could be anything.

To the best of my knowledge the 192.168.252 is referring to a private network. Do you have any other smart / wi-fi devices in your home like a television, cable box, Alexa, smart appliance or other that may be connecting to your network.
