I am running Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2. Computers are running Windows XP SP2.
On a member server I have 35 printers connected to the server. No one in the domain can print to the printers. The print spooler is running and no errors are in the event logs. All printers are shared out and permissions set with no changes to permissions before this happened.
I can print if I use the NetBIOS name to install the printer, but cannot print with the DNS name. The printers shares are set to List in the directory but when searching, no printers are found. However, I can see the printers connected to the server if I perform a search for the computer or server they are attached to and install the printer in this way.
I have uninstalled the shares and recreated them, removed the server from the domain and rejoined the domain and setup the shares once more. I uninstalled DNS and reinstalled DNS. I checked using NSLookup for errors in DNS -- all OK. DHCP is working without problems. Any idea where to look next or how to resolve this?
