Сan someone help me to open my pst file which I had cut copied while moving on to new Laptop? Now I cannot open this file in Outlook 2010. I tried repairing the file using scanpst and other demo version from kernel and other software. Most of them say "not a valid pst file". Please help me as the date in this PST is important.
AS you moved this one to new laptop, have you tried to open the same in your old laptop (still if you have this old one) ! As you tried with scanpst but there was no good result ! it seems that, the procedure of moving/ copying might be wrong or you did some mistake, all are assuming. I think your PST file gets corrupted
due to any internal issue so you are unable to open emails. You should use a
strong PST repair application to repair your corrupt PST file. Many PST
recovery programs are available in online market that can be used for the same
tasks such as: SysTools Outlook
Recovery, Recovery Tools for MS Outlook and PCVITA Recover Outlook etc.
Check out demo editions of application choose one of them according to your
need. For more utilities you can search “Outlook PST recovery” on Google.
“Cut and Copied” is not a valid way to move PST files from one location to another because sometimes it can create errors in the copied PST data or make it inaccessible after moving. Microsoft Outlook provides Export feature which is a really safe way to move PST Files.
About third party utilities: Every third party utility has built up accordingly their algorithm to handle corruption, so it is not necessary that if a specific tool has failed to repair data file then PST file can’t be repaired. There are also some other tools which can help you to revert back these data, such as SysTools Outlook Recovery, PcVita, etc.
Note: Recommendations for any specific third party utility is on behalf of my personal experience, so which fits on need.
If you are facing problem cannot open archieved pst file in outlook 2010, then you can use of third party tool as well known Kernel for Outlook PST Repair which is well supported by all versions of MS Outlook.
Use the Inbox Repair tool. Provide the path and the file name of your personal folders (.pst) file and then click Start. After repair you should now see the recovered folders in the Folder List view.
