Help! I just turned on my PC and the monitor is showing all these different colors. There's red, green and blue. I tried pressing F10 and it sounds like it's going to the BIOS but nothing is happening (the monitor is the same). I'm not sure what's wrong here - is it the monitor? The PC is a HP. What else can I check?

What model HP computer? Some use integrated graphics and other may have a dedicated video card that can be replaced if it’s gone bad.

There may be other ways to test what is wrong but take a little work. If your computer has another video connection like HDMI you might try hooking up to a tv for example. Another option is take it some place and see if they can tell you what is wrong. They will probably have more equipment to test things out.

It sounds like that, monitor related issues are there. Is it possible to check the monitor with another PC? Or if possible, check that PC with another one. Have you tried to boot the system in Safe mode? Also, is there an external graphics card?

Check the cable connections. If they seem ok, try booting into DOS mode or safe mode. If you have done any recent updates / upgrades it may be a driver problem. If you added a new monitor or video card, are their resolutions compatible? Provide some additional details and we can try and point you in a better direction.

Morevoer, of the HP PC is new or under warranty, it is better to contact the HP Customer Care for more help. Also providing here a good link from HP: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c00791958
