My HP Desktop 2542 has lost power. I bought a new power cord, it arrived today. The green light is on on the power cord box, but NOTHING is turning on...on the printer. If I took it apart, would I see something obvious? How do I get power?

On what OS installed this printer. If it is windows 10 (assuming), have you configured all the parameters/ settings. If it is brand new, you must have ask for service through hp website or through their service number. However, you can navigate here for more info: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Deskjet-2540-All-in-One-Printer-series/5295960/model/5385253/troubleshooting

Do you mean "HP DeskJet 2542"?

We don't know if anything will be obvious to you or not. We have no idea what you electronics diagnostics capabilities are nor what equipment you might have.

Most likely, the answer is "No."

It may just be broken. If the new cord has a light showing power but the printer will not turn on then it's most likely an internal issue. IT may just be cheaper to get a new printer that to take it somewhere for repairs.
