Basically email is never installed on any computer/ handheld devices. While you open your email, that means first open a browser (IE/FE etc.) then open the vendor/ client mail address like yahoo/ gmail etc and provide valid login/ password to open your mail. So, there is no question about to delete email from your computer. You can delete email account by login to the concerned email client and do as they suggested. However more clear view is needed. Or if there is outlook, this is another issue.

If this is personal email, unless you saved it to the computer they are still on the site that you use to login to get your email. This way your email is accessible from any computer with an internet connection. Example if you email is on Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail you can go to that service, login to your account and view your emails. When you log out they still remain on the hosting site.
