When you need to take a backup of SQL server using another PC in the same LAN, start by backing up the current databases. Then connect to SQL Server with either SQL Server Management Studio or in the command prompt with sqlcmd -S yourhostname[\SQLExpress] -U yourusername. Copy the database to the new server. Double check that the files transferred and open properly.
