Does anyone know if it would be possible for me to split a Microsoft Excel cell into two smaller parts. I don't want to insert a new row or column. Just one specific cell (for example: A2). Any help would be great.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I don’t think it’s possible as there would be no way to reference both parts of a single cell. If you are doing any calculations on this cell they wont work using the standard methods either. Depending on the contents of the cell you could probably have 2 pieces of text data in the cell and use some substring and formatting to make it somewhat presentable. The issue is you would have to go through the same process any time you wanted to change the data. Not worth the hassle.

Probably cells can't be split in MS Excel without using third party tool, if any. What can you do, in Excel, there is a function called 'Text to Columns', which can be helpful. This is under Data Tab, Data Tools Group. Here is a good help from Microsoft: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/split-a-cell-f1804d0c-e180-4ed0-a2ae-973a0b7c6a23

Why not just add another column? Some more details might help us understand what your needs are and what you are trying to accomplish.
