Our company plans to split one of our subsidiary company into two companies. Our system is ECC6. We plan to move the related open documents and data to the new company (e.g. open sales orders, open purchase orders, open production orders, materials…etc.). We think that we need to extract data for open documents (e.g. sales orders, purchase orders… etc.), closed open document, revised data with open quantity if any and create new documents/data based on the revised data back to our systems.
Could you advice if there are any SAP tools/programs we can use or any below approaches will work and any issues we needs to be aware of?
What we thinks is that we will run our custom programs to save the documents specific information (e.g. open sales orders # and the open quantity) initially. Then we will close these open documents. The following are approaches we plan to use after this.
1. Archive closed documents/data.
2. Run custom programs to revise the archive data (e.g. change old company code to new one).
3. Restore revised archive data to create new document/data (not sure if it is possible).
1.Is it possible to trigger outbound idoc when documents are closed (e.g. trigger outbound order acknowledge when sales order is closed).
2.Run custom programs to revise this outbound idoc.
3.Trigger inbound idoc to create document. (e.g. sales order).
1.Use BAPI*GET*LIST to extract data for a specific document (e.g. for sales order uses ‘BAPISDORDER_GETDETAILEDLIST’).
2.Run custom programs to revise data extracted from # 1.
3.Use BAPI*Create* to create new document/data (e.g. for sales order use ‘BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2’).
