Hi, I want to specify a library list while compiling.
I will do a SMBJOB. I want the object to look for reference object in these libraries as well, but don't want to add them in user library list.

Hi,

You can mention the required library list on Initial Library List (INLLIBL) parameter of SBMJOB Command.
You could specify it as CURLIB (Current Library) if you have only library that need to be referred first.

You could also setup different Job Descriptions with different library lists to Submit your compiles.

    Thanks.

I was thinking on the same line, but don't have the authority to to CRTJOBD in my system (free AS/400 server you see :) ).
    Hence thinking of any alternative.
Everytime add and removing of library for compilation, didnt seem to be a proper solution. JOBD would be best, but if I can get authority.

    Any alternatives?

If you don't have authority to create JOBD,

I would suggest you to have CL Driver, which accepts the Source File, Member, Type, Library and Object Library details as parameters and have your compilation commands (CRTBNDRPG, CRTBNDCL, CRTPF, etc) based on input parameters.

And, Add Libraries to Library list just before running creation command.

You could consider removing those libraries from library list if you are running it interactively.

If this is to be regularly either create a CL like like Depp mentioned or have your operations manager or security officer create a special profile for compiling your program objects into the production environment.
