How to read a JPG image

JPG file
Hey guys, I came across a JPG image and I was trying to get an understanding of when I took the picture. The file title reads IMG_6296.JPG and I didn't understand if it had anything to possibly deal with a date.

The name can be anything. It’s possible if the image came from a digital camera or other source it uses a sequential number with a prefix. My photos create a file DSC001324.jpg then the next is DSC001325.jpg.  The properties will provide more info. If you open the folder with windows explorer and select the image it will give tons of info in the bottom panel dimensions , date taken and some will even provide camera detail like speed, lens and some eve capture GPS location of the shoot.

Right click on the photo & click properties, here you can see the details of date will be displayed (click details tab). Sometimes meta data can also help you.

More over, for next time, you can set the name criteria in settings. There must be a setting like that in your camera.
