How to print AS/400 using HP5si and specify color paper or custom ‘type’ for tray selection

5 pts.
AS/400 printing
PCL Codes
How can i setup a AS400 print configuration using HP5si PCL and select a specific paper color and/or paper type when default printer setup is for standard plain white stock.

Actually printing to Xerox 5755

Need to someway to make color or type values unique-rather not use PCL tray call code.

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish.

If it is just to keep certain spool files for the AS400 from printing, have you tried using the OVRPRTF comand?

We use it here all the time just change the parameters as needed for FORMTYPE, either use the formtype or put a color in if is’t not the standard.

You might be better served by downloading the Xerox Tools library. In it you will find workstation customisation source for pretty much every Xerox printer, including one (XRXWC57XX) for the Xerox 5755. I've found the work station customisation objects are much more stable than using the HP type and model / system driver program.

BTW, it's a pain to find the blasted thing. If you want to scrounge, go to Xerox: select the Support and Drivers menu: select Printers, select a category from the list, select a printer from the list (I grabbed WorkCentre / WorkCentre 5665/5675/5687), select Drivers and Downloads: select IBM AS/400 from the Operating System pull down list: select AS400 Workstation Customization Object Library for Xerox Products: a page will display an EULA, clicking the Accept button will trigger a download for a .zip file containing documentation and a save file of the most recent version of the tools. Upload that last to your system, restore the library, create the workstation customisation object(s), then use the appropriate command (CRTXDEVPRT for the 5755) to create the device.
