Firefox and other browsers will open PDFs if you have installed a PDF viewer and configured the browser to invoke the viewer for PDFs. In general, browsers do not open PDFs. Windows 10 might have a default PDF viewer; I don't use Windows 10.

The query leaves several questions! First of all what OS is there; was PDF files opened earlier; Have you upgraded any software/ systems; have you reinstalled/ repaired the OS by any meant; have you tried with any other PDF software other than adobe. For not opening PDF files, there are several causes that are responsible. Without finding out the root cause, it may not possible to provide proper reply.
