How to make M4V editable in Final Cut Pro X

I have a file 1920 x 1080p x 50fps in m4v format. As fcpx does not like m4v I need to convert it to a .mov to make it usable. I have tried converting in Adobe Encoder to a Quicktime Apple Pro res 422 (a .mov file) using the source configuration of 1920 x 1080p x 50fps and for some reason the audio is now out of sync with the video. Could the bitrate be off, not sure whats going on with it? I have also tried changing the m4v extension to .mp4 by simply changing it in the file name. This allowed it to be imported by fcpx with audio in sync but full of clicks and interference. Can you please offer a suggestion? I was given this footage in m4v format and have no idea what was done to it prior to its delivery to me which makes things very difficult. Thanks for any help in advance.

If you want to convert, you can try online convert help. Or you can try with wondershare video converter.

Thanks for the reply but I think Adobe encoder should have been able to handle it. The thought of spending more money on another piece of software seems crazy. Do you have a link to an online converter?

Zamzar only takes up to 50MB free and then you have to pay. My file is 5.2GB.

Almost all online converters have some restrictions for uploading data. You can try here, http://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-mov
or you have to download free from here: http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/
