How to fix Windows 10 context menu ‘Send to / Mail recipient’

Windows 10
Hi Tech Target, I'm new at Windows, after being a macOS guy for many years. Naturally the overall experience is positive, though I do find several hick-ups. One of the most basic ones is Windows 10's inability to use it's 'Send to / Mail recipient' context menu with it own mail app. If I hover above file in Pathfinder and select the context menu option, I get: 'There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is all ready installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.' - And this I've checked, done and redone ... to no avail. Would you guys know of the fix to this? All the best, Jakob

The address you see when you type in the To box, is from the auto complete cache and are contained, in Outlook 2007 it is probably .nk2 file and you can use a 3rd party tool to copy the addresses.

    Hi Subhendu

Thanks for reply. I never get that far. When I select the context menu 'Send to / Mail recipient' my endeavour is stopped by a requester saying no mail is associated for this action. The requester also tells me to use Windows Preferences to fix this. I've done this ... several times, and it still doesn't work.

I never get to type any address in the To box.

It's the latest Windows 10 and use the default Mail app supplied with Windows 10.

    Again, thanks for reply.
