How to convert a JPEG or PNG file/picture into JPG format only

5 pts.
JPG file
I am required to upload pic of employee id into co. my profile. However, the only allowable format is jog to download our pic. I assumed a jpeg format would be ok, it was not. I tried a png image version, no dice. I have no way of converting this little pic into a jpg format so that I can upload the pic and get this task done and get people off ma back...:)

JPG and JPEG stand both for an image format proposed and supported by the Joint Photographic Experts Group. The two terms have the same meaning and are interchangeable.  just a different file extension. Try renaming to the file extension needed.

The format and the file name extension are very different things. A file with any format can have any extension you choose, and the format won't change in the slightest.

However, if some upload function will only accept files with names that end in .JPG, then the format is almost irrelevant. It's not checking the format -- it's checking the name. (Personally, the first thing I'd probably do in that case is change the extension of a PNG-format file to be .JPG and upload it.)

What was the full name of the JPEG file that was rejected?

You wanted to upload your photo in your company's data or for necessity for HR department. So, where is the system administrator who takes care for all of these? Have you asked the same to the person who are liable for all of these. Most You wrote "jog format", possibly it will be JPG.

Sometimes, file size is mentioned when upload a photo/file. Check if there is any mandate like that. When you try to upload might be the file size is exceeded and it does not allow. Please check the same.

You could try a free software program like GIMP to crop / scale / convert the image to the size and format you need.
