Hi, I am new to Red Hat Linux 4.0 and squid. We have configured proxy setting. We have facing some proxy related issue. Maximum website can browse except few (e.g Yahoo mail, YouTube etc.) While trying it gives "Unable to determine IP address from host name for yahoomail.com" and "Refused: The name server refuses to perform the specified operation."It is noted that I am using DNS server and proxy server for the same machine using Red Hat. Please, give me give solution for how to browse yahoo mail and others.

"Maximum website can browse except few", what did it mean, Linux does not support all types of browsers, while you are using red hat, a linux based OS, and hardly it supports firefox/ opera/ konqueror/ chrome/ seamonkey there are more, but they are not using generally. As per your query, whatever browsers are installed, are they all updated, are their libs/ daemons are up to date. Is the proxy settings are configured properly on all browsers. Also which socks version are you using now, is this socks4 or socks5.

RedHat Linux 4.0 is from October, 1996. And if you actually mean RHEL (RedHat Enterprise Linux) 4.0, that's from February, 2005. Perhaps whatever you have is obsolete and simply doesn't work.

I agree with Raven. It may be best to upgrade. That code may no longer be supported.
