I really want to know programming, but my challenge is I can only learn with practicals. I'm really not much a book reading person but if I have to, I will give it a shot. If I can get video tutorials that teaches to be a programmer, that would be great. I have no basic idea about it. Thanks.

Software/Hardware used:
CISCO, JAVA, PAYTHON, VISUAL STUDIO etc

Personally, I learn best from live, classroom situations – with hands on training. If you like video tutorials, try looking on You Tube for the specific programming languages you are interested in – it’s amazing what you can learn from You Tube these days!

If you know programming and want to learn a different language, you may be able to do that on your own. But to learn the basic, I suggest you take a class at a local school to get the basics. Then you can decide if you want to continue with more classes at the school or do it on your own.

There are several softwares/ software languages mentioned on tag line. First you have to decide in which language/ program you want to know, Go any one first and gather a solid knowledge on the same, then you will understand almost all software program/ languages while logic almost same for all,

What type of programming are you interested in? Business, educational or gaming to name a few all have languages better suited for it. Like Charlie mentioned a class or to in schools to get the basic concepts down is a plus. There are lots of tutorials on line to guide you if you want to go the self taught way. Then you need a system that can support the language you wish to learn.

There are plenty of books out there that also have hands-on labs for you to practice what is discussed in the book. Everyone has their own favorite, so you just need to do some research and choose the best one for you. One such language is Python. The software is free to download and the language is quite easy to learn. The current craze of the Raspberry Pi's is controlled by this language and their and plenty of books and magazines dedicated to this.
