I believe you can save spoolfiles on i from release 6.1 on.
Save the library and output queue the Joblogs are on.

When you save the library be certain the parameter SPLFDTA is set to *ALL.

BTW, for how long do you retain job logs and other system output? That may affect what you are able to backup.

For what reason are you looking to save the job logs? Are they user job logs, batch job logs or all? It may not be complete as not all jobs may create a log due to other system settings. Depending on when you try to save them, you may not capture what you are looking for.

If all you want to save is the spoolfile data from *OUTQ QEZJOBLOG (or whatever *OUTQ you're using), you should only need to use SAVOBJ. Be very sure that you understand how to restore later.

Also, any number of joblogs might be in *JOBLOG PENDING status. If so, those joblogs have not been spooled yet and won't be backed up. It's quite possible that most (if not the vast majority) of joblogs never should be spooled and placed on an *OUTQ.
