I know it is easy to configure the Windows built-in PPTP VPN client, but some beginner users find it confusing, especially knowing where/when to enter things like the host name and service name etc.
Are there scripts available that let a Network Admin create a small application that a user can just run that automatically configures the VPN for them with the network's host name, service name and any other settings, and just prompts the user for their username and password at the end?
I have seen something similar for OpenVPN, but want to know if it's possible to do the same with Windows' native built-in VPN.
Software/Hardware used: Wiindows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
I don't think you should use PPTP vpn technology anymore. It does not provide encryption for the authentication data. Username and passwords are pass-thru as clear text. Go with L2tp at a minimium.
