Any new business venture can be scary. Take a known business model type like the food industry. A 2016 survey indicates a “23%” first year restaurant failure rate. Why??  unknown variables like location , clientele and economy are key factors. There are many web site businesses that fail as well. These can be due to the fact trying to get traffic to your site and away from any other competing sites. It does happen but those are the odds you take. Nothing is for certain. If everything went well the we would all be rich investing all new companies.. Just look back a few years ago people flocked to the site Myspace now they are on Facebook.

Well, predicting the success of a business is not unlike predicting the weather, the stock market, and so on. It depends on a lot of factors but, by and large, it's completely unpredictable. I have found that most businesses succeed or fail based on leadership and management.

Can you tell us more about the business?

Sometimes prediction is not work as we do expect. It is better to contact a good market research company/consultant who can help you to predict regarding this matter. Also you can look for market trend (minimum 10 years) and observe what other company took strategies to get success. However face to face discussions can help to clear several confusions.

Contact a local SCORE chapter and see if they will provide some consulting. (SCORE.ORG)

Sorry, I don't recall what the SC stand for but ORE is Of Retired Executives. They provide several free services.
