How to access downloaded files in Linux

I'm currently learning how to use KALI LINUX. I created a new user and downloaded some files. I was able to view the file with the new user account. When I logged back in as a root user, I tried accessing the files but I could not find them. I checked back with the user account and I could see them. So please is there any way or command one can use to view the files or access the files from the root level even if it was downloaded using a non-root user account. Thanks.

Try finding the file using this command:
    find / -name yourfilename.rpm
Replace your filename with the actual name of the downloaded file. file name extension may vary.
