Way too many unknown variables. Things like the job market is a big one as well as your competition. Some companies will want young people that they can mold to fit their company goals. When it comes to freelancing a prospective client may want to see examples of your past work or details of prior job history. They may see you as a higher risk than a regular employee as you may not have the same business interest as some looking to make a career in that company.
Forgot to add the region is a strong factor as well. Opportunities in larger cities may offer a lot more money but you need to weight the cost of living in that city or the travel needed unless you have the opportunity to telecommute.
