Before
we would want to give an answer to this, we would like to know do you have
a business case for asking this question or is it a homework question.

If you have a good business
case for it, please let us know. It is really not right for us to be doing
homework for people. It deprives them of the extra knowledge they get when
doing the research themselves.

Impossible for us to say without a LOT more detail, much more than a Q&A forum can handle. VoIP has no noticeable impact at all on the network I'm using right now, but I could easily change that by changing the traffic mix and volume.

To start an answer, it's a simple direct "Yes."  But that's a useless and almost always meaningless answer. E.g., if you have sufficient extra capacity and your network is reasonably well provisioned and managed, the performance difference won't be enough to make any difference. Otherwise...?

You need to run Google searches for things like "voip network impact" or "voip network performance" and read results to get the basic ideas.

For the most part, any added traffic always has an impact. That's not meaningful, though. The question should be whether the impact matters to you or not.

That is not probably the question you need to ask.

If you have been tasked to implement some kind of VoIP system in your network and are worried because of the impact it can have, then you really need to provide a lot more detail about your environment and the system you are considering to implement, and the reason why you are worried about performance.
