    What identity are you referring too? It depends if you are overriding anything as well.

    For an interactive session it's the user profile you signed on with. For a batch job it's specified on the USER() keyword (which defaults to *CURRENT). Similarly for auto-start & pre-start jobs it is specified on the *JOBD.
    Also, under program control you can call an API to 'adopt' another user profile for authority checking purposes, but that wont change the user id of the current job.
