    Not sure I follow the question. If you typed it it should not change until you re-key it unless you have a macro that is trying to pull in the current date that may be replacing what you key. Is this a doc you created or are you using a pre-designed one?

    Assuming It is a field code that is updated when you open the doc file. you can lock the field. Select the field, want  lock & press Ctrl + F11.

    It must be a template or there is something else going on. In a normal document things do not change for no reason. Check with who created the original document to find what they are doing with the date field. Also It may be when you save the file. Are you saving it as the same file name or a different one?
