    I am also planning to test this connection just to enhance my knowledge. Here's a useful link:http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEPGG_9.7.0/com.ibm.db2.luw.apdv.samptop.doc/doc/r0011079.html

    You need to add the "IBM DB2 for i.NET Provider" reference to your project. Then you can user code like this to access it.

    This runs an SQL on the i-series.

        strConnection = "DataSource=10.10.10.10;userid=IBM;password=IBM;DefaultCollection=MYDATALIB;Pooling=False;Connect Timeout=30;"

    Dim myConnection As New iDB2Connection(strConnection)
     Dim myCommand As New iDB2Command(mySQL, myConnection)
