Thunderbird data can’t open into MS Outlook directly. There is a difference between storage systems of email clients. Thunderbird stores all items in MBOX file while Outlook posses PST file for data storage. So, there is obligation to convert MBOX file into PST format. You can check conversion process at Thunderbird forum, mentioned below:

I have a number of free e-mail accounts that I access via IMAP. That lets me use either Thunderbird or Outlook to read the same e-mail items. No need to do any conversion at all. (I prefer Thunderbird almost exclusively, using Outlook only in the rare cases that a customer provides it.)

You can't directly access as mentioned so with the help of a MBOX to PST Conversion application, you can easily transfer Thunderbird data to Outlook.

simply do one time setting of import giving thunderbird mail server address and your credentials. All emails from there will automatically land in your Outlook. Another simple way is to set auto-forward in Thunderbird. Like, my all emails coming to Thunderbird account get auto-forwarded to my Gmail account.

Run the Thunderbird> choose the messages. After selection, right click & choose ‘Forward As Attachments‘ option. A new mail message opens. Now enter the Outlook email address & select send. Now, open the Outlook> Send and Receive. Open the email that you have sent from Thunderbird mail client. Now drag all the attached mails from active windows to the inbox folder.

@patrickyoung, before buying any third party software, it is better for ask a demo. This way this can be possible to judge this software before buying at least. If the result is almost satisfactory, or this can fulfill the required job, then go for purchase.
