In Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V we support things like VMQ and Chimney as well as Jumbo Frames. This allows us to offload networking traffic to the hardware to free up CPU resources. This gives us great performance for VMs. I don’t have any benchmarks comparing our stack and VMware’s so I will have to defer that piece of the question.
