Our organization has a bunch of Microsoft Word templates that's been causing quite the trouble recently. When I open (and other employees) the template, the CPU shoots all the way up and the template basically becomes unusable. Process Explorer doesn't know what's happening. We're on Windows 10 / Office 365. What should we look at here? Thanks.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Since there other factors here that I don’t know.  First and foremost that i have seen this with corrupted templates.  What version of Word were the templates created in?  Next, were the templates converted over to the new version office template because the templates may not be compatible with Office 365.  You may have to totally recreate the templates and start over with them..

Are the all templates installed externally? You mentioned OS is Windows 10, but what is the configuration of machines. Also How did you measure that only for this reason this is happened. What other software are there. Without knowing all of these, not possible to provide good replies.

Does the template work for anybody on an older version of Office or OS? It may be it got damaged during the move to Office 365 or it was damaged before hand. Try and verify that template is still useable by someone else. My opinion is it got damaged and will need to be created again.
