Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

HDD Unlock Wizard is a user-friendly application which allows you to easily remove HDD password. IDE and SATA hard disk drives are supported. Both User and Master password can be removed. Please note that while unlocking, HDD Unlock Wizard will erase and re-certify the drive, meaning to say all data in the disk is lost and not recoverable. HDD Unlock Wizard incorporates proprietary unlocking algorithms which allow removing an unknown HDD password and making hard drive usable again.

Here’s the link to download if you want to try it out…hope this helps.

We don't usually provide tips on how to circumvent security as we cannot verify ownership. You may just have to search a few more sites.. Some will try and sell you tools to do the trick.. Be wary of others ans they may contain malware.

Keep in mind, don't take any illegal way or trick. There so many websites that claims to do the job, but actually they try to extract your private data and in future you may face a serious problems.

As the tag indicated, it is better to ask Seagate for more help.

No password would be useful if it was easy to get around. No one's system would be safe.

You can find and download utilities that might do it. But because it's unethical, you risk installing a program that was created by unethical persons. Whatever happens is at your own risk.

A better choice is to find a reputable technician to do it for you.

Would love to see a password recovery option similar to a web site account. Tie it to an email address when you set it up. There is also the method I have seen where the password is written down on a piece of tape and stuck inside the PC case.
