You can't. There's a slim chance that qualified professionals could, given enough time with phone in their possession. It could be costly.

If it's not your phone, there's practically nothing you can do with it that's legal. OTOH, if you're not involved and other people are being talked to about it, you possibly should consult a lawyer.

How did you know that his phone is hacked. What problems are there? What make/ model of his phone? It is better to change all passwords related to phone including email.

What symptoms are you having that make you think the phone is hacked? Most likely is the account he has have had their passwords breached. If you are not using strong passwords, they can be fairly easy to crack. Mainly all they need is to hack your email. Once in they can get access to all emails from from everyone you do business with like CC, banks, Social media site. All they need to do is request a password reset using this email and they can lock you out of your accounts.. Here is my suggestion..

If you use passwords with things like birthdays, anniversaries or other special significance they make it easier for people to crack. The same goes for the names of family members, pets, ex's or the type of car you drive or favorite vacation spots.

Too many people use these because they are easy to remember. The problem is if you post anything to social media with those dates or photos tagged with the name it's even easier to crack your password. You should be using a password of at least 8 to 10 characters and use mixed case, upper and lower and even use a few special characters. Each special char and extra char used in the password makes it exponentially tougher to crack.

You should also never use the same password on multiple sites. If someone does get into an account, say your email, they can go to other sites of yours and ask for a password reset.

It then gets sent to that hacked email address and they can change it and lock you out of your accounts or worse. It's scary to think, but it happens. It gets worse the more we use different social media accounts and expose personal information.

If you feel you have been hacked, run some anti virus software. Then change all of you password accounts.

It is better to ask your internet provider or local Cable operator who provides all of these. They could have some better tools or technology which can help to trace the culprit. Or even you can knock the door of your local administrator (Law/ Cyber Crime prevention department)  for more help.
