So I'm working on this Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, and I noticed this odd gray triangle in one of the cells. I have no idea what it is. It's in the top left corner of the cell. Any idea on what it is? Has someone seen tis before?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

It may be that the cell contains numeric data but the cell is formatted as text. Select the cell in question then check the bar at the top and see if the numeric data entered  is proceeded with a single quote.

Have you calculated a formula previously on the same cell? This is generally, a green triangle indicates an error in the formula in the cell. When you select the cell/mouse over, this indicator appears (basically it is an error sign). You can click the arrow next to the button for a list of options. From these options you can edit/ignore/check the formula.
