Getting info on DFU usage

DFU
I'm embarrassed to ask, but ... Is there a way to find occurrences of DFU usage? Even better if it excludes DSPDTA. TMI - The prior regime here was pro DFU. So just revoking all authority to it would be disruptive in the short run. So identifying users/data files/dates would be a good start toward closing that loophole.

DFU generally creates a Spool File ..

I think there are some ways to turn it on/off

    Users can delete spool files

You might need to create a list of all objects of type *PGM and attribute 'DFU'. Then for each item in the list:

    CHGOBJAUD OBJ( dfu-lib/dfu_name ) OBJTYPE(*PGM) OBJAUD(*ALL)

Once that's done, the system audit journal will contain a 'ZR' entry for each time one of the DFU programs is called (assuming auditing is active.)

It's easy to test an individual DFU.

It's not an easy task. We went through this a few years back when we were looking to be ISO compliant. That meant no more DFU, for some reason auditors don't like us to use this tool. We looked at all the QPDZDTALOG spool files we could find to start then put a restriction on the command and see who called to complain. Ravens solution may be the easiest for you because as philpl1jb mentioned, spool files can be deleted.

    Thanks for the ideas

We are taking that scary path down the "audit journal" road
