My Acer has been acting up lately. So I did some digging and found numerous notepads with "MSI" at the beginning. After looking all the logs over, many changes were made. To name a few: The registry, startup, user permissions. Also the Services were manipulated. I'm currently trying a full reset. I don't think it will work. Whomever did this has pretty much sealed the door. I'd like to keep it professional. Thanks. By the way, I'm very frustrated. If this rest fails, it will, I'll check the BIOS. Again. I eagerly await your advice.

Software/Hardware used:
changes permissions as well as the child, creates Trusted Owner, removes my permission till I boxed em into child acct. got out, see above.

Assuming it is a Windows OS (as you mentioned .msi and standalone system) & you are already in a mood to reset the system, that indicated format & reinstall OS after taking necessary backups, it is better to install a strong anti virus (either cost/ free) with proper configuration and check that also remote settings is properly configured or off. Also do look after the built-in firewall settings. Keep anti virus with latest version including current patch/ updates.
