I'm fairly new to Linux - just gotten started on it a few weeks ago. I just installed Ubuntu and everything was okay but now Firefox is not working. I can't access the Internet anymore. My Wi-Fi is connected. What should I look into here?

I think the easiest thing to try is to completely delete the mozilla file found in the home directory and try to run firefox again. The mozilla file is usually hidden so you may have to press CTRL + H to be ablle to see it.

Probably there is somehow permission problem. You can try to changing permission by chown -R command. If that will not work, you can try to restart FF in safe mode like open terminal and type as firefox -safe-mode.

    My Wi-Fi is connected.

What does that mean? Connected to what? What is Ubuntu installed on? Is Ubuntu configured for the wireless adapter? Is there a wired port you can use? (Drivers might need to be downloaded.)

Did you run from a "Live" CD/USB to test things out before installing?
