Finishing tasks without deleting

I want to indicate what I've finished, without deleting. I want the indicator to appear in the tab next to the name of the page. Alternatively, I want to draw a line through text on the tab, or, alternatively, tag the tab with a symbol I can identify as "done". Please help. Thank you in advance.
