Files are being deleted during Dropbox to Google Drive synchronization

I'm in the process of switching from Dropbox to Google Drive (for storage purposes) and I had to move roughly 50 - 75 GB of files. Roughly 15% in, the app was slowing down to a crawl so I restarted it. But it didn't continue with the upload. It started to delete files and put them in the trash. I've stopped the process altogether. What should I do so this doesn't continue to happen?

I’ve never experienced this situation but it sounds like you might need to contact Google’s tech support. If you have a business G Suite account their support is very good. Otherwise, perhaps it’s related to your Internet connection speed? Maybe files are getting dropped because of delays…?

It might be your ISP is throttling your speed due to the large amount of data. Try Kevins suggestion and if Google tech support cannot provide an answer call your ISP and ask if they are slowing your data transfer.
Also remember upload speeds are generally a lot slower than download speeds. The only one I have seen that claims download/upload speeds are the same is Verizon FIOS.
