Extracting .WAR file using Linux command line

I'm currently in a Linux environment and I need to extract a .WAR file. Can I use the command line to do this? If not, what should I do?

Using unzip

unzip -c whatever.war META-INF/MANIFEST.MF  

Using jar

jar xvf test.war
