External HDD won’t auto run

I got 1TB HHD that doesn't auto run whenever I plug it to any computer. I have scanned it for virus but that couldn't help. is there another method I can use.

    What do you mean by "auto run"?  HDDs don't "run".  Applications run.

    Do you mean that it is not detected by the operating system?

    Probably or somehow auto play feature is disable on your windows version. Check that is enable, To check this, please navigate here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/change-autoplay-settings#1TC=windows-7
    Though you did not mention here what OS are you using now ! The above is based on Windows 7.
    If it is Linux/ Mac, the procedure is entirely different.

    Is this external drive powered from an external adapter or is is bus powered from the USB port?

    HHD is bus powered from USB port. If I plug any other HHD it Auto spins and give me options but this particular one I have to navigate to computer to get it started from there. It does this in every computer I plug it on.
