I have a MS SQL .BAK database that I need to convert to MySQL. I was able to import the database but not actually export to MySQL. A friend of mine told me to use MySQL Migration Toolkit but it's been replaced by MySQL Workbench. Can I use this tool to migrate the database? Or is there another way to do this? Thanks!

Welcome To ITKE

Can try using MySQL Workbench which provides a way to quickly migrate data and applications from Microsoft SQL Server to MySQL employing.

This tool has a features like:

  1. Database migrations – enables migrations from Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase ASE and PostgreSQL.
  2. Migration project management – allows migrations to be configured, copied, edited, executed and scheduled.

Check this resource MySQL Workbench: Database Migration

Hope this helps.
