You can set the initial library list for a user in their initial signon program. Then you can revoke authority to the ADDLIBLE and CHGLIBLE commands so they cannot modify it. Also if you do not give them command line access, they will not be able to use production libraries.

What I do is the put the STRDBG command in the initial signon program for the user. Then by using the TYPE option on libraries (*PROD or *TEST), they will not be able to open a production library for update. Program will crash automatically. I have setup all my programmers like this. This prevents many errors as we move around from task to task. They must make a specific effort to ENDDBG.

    Thank you

User profile limited capabilities *yes, initial program Main, object authority on command STRPDM allows any library, without changing authority on each library, how to isolate the wrklibpdm to just their test library? If I change the init pgm, not able to add an option for strpdm in the cl.

Added init pgm to user profile. If F3 out of starting pgm, get command line and can enter strpdm. When working with libraries or any of the options from strpdm, have access to objects in other libraries but only for viewing. If trying to make a change to another library not authorized to, or the source files, will allow the edit, but will not update the change. Thank you for your assistance.
