Is possible to deploy a single Exchange server on a network with two different trusted domains, DomainA & DomainB. We would like to keep the email address for DomainA on DomainA.com and DomainB on DomainB individual.
The mail must be re-routed to the correct domain for both from the single Exchange Server.
Yes, Exchange can host 2 domains. Assuming you are wanting to receive external email to two domains on the Exchange server, you will need external MX records for each domain, such as mail.mymail.com and mail.yourmail.com and each will point to the same external IP address for the Exchange server. Then the Exchange server is configured to be responsible for delivery of email to the domain
Yeah you should be able to receive emails from both the domain. Just create 1 mx record pointing both A records of botth the domains to this MX record. You actually don't need to create 2 mx records.Make sure you have a 2 way trust relationship. create mail enabled contacts on the domain which has exchange server and forward the mail to the other exchange server
