Estimating Software testing time

Can anyone recommend any good materials to help with estimating testing time when requirements often seem to be changing during the testing of software? One of our hardest jobs is trying to provide management how much time remains in testing especially when they want it by hours and we are talking about manual testing in particular in this case. Management, outside of QA, has a difficult time understanding the difficulties of providing accurate remaining testing time with so many variables outside the control of QA.

There are several ways to do that. Like, Delphi Technique, which requires a survey from QA specialists or Work Breakdown Structure, using this technic, it is necessary to deconstruct the project into a basic elementary components & then estimate time for each of them. There are more, providing here a reference, that can help you, 'Software Estimation Best Practices, Tools, Techniques: A Complete Guide for Software Project Estimators', by Murali Chemuturi.
