Error while creating subdirectory

On a TalonFAST Edge server the following DOS command gives an error (access denied):
md \servernametalonedgeshareexistingfoldernewfolder1newfolder2
On every other filesystem I know this is an allowed command.

    That command looks strange. No spacing or is that all one name? IT may exceed the name size limits. Try contacting TalonFAST support.

    It looks like the backslash is lost. 
    \\\\servername\\
      talonedgeshare\\
        existingfolder\\
          newfolder1\\
            newfolder2
    Windows creates newfolder1 for you when you give md as commandline option the whole path.

    And now it will show the double backslash. Just another try:

    md \\server\share\existingfolder\newfolder1\newfolder2
