My colleague sent me an email attachment which is a list of contact that probably came from an Outlook list...when I try to open the document I get the following error: "This contact group has been edited wiht a newer version of Outlook and contains too many members to display."
Just a suggestion. It would be then wise to update your version outlook to newer version. If then you do, this will then not be a continuos issue for you between your colleagues..
nless ofcourse you prefer what your are using..
Good luck..
This error could be for not connecting to internet / network, or even the mail server is not available at that time. Or the account settings may not correct. OR user profile is damaged and try to create new one.
Upgrade Outlook to the same version or newer.
It's pretty easy to throw that solution out there, isn't it?
While perhaps the penultimate solution...this may not be a feasible solution for businesses where justification must be sought for each dollar spent. The OP suggesting to get a hundreds-of-dollars upgrade just so they can import a contact list would likely not meet with approval.
I know, because for the same reason we still run Office 97 on some machines. The fortunate have reached 2000/2002. Interesting that the president and plant manager run 2007/2010...
Please do try the CSV export/import option suggested by RamseyB. I think that will accomplish what you want. And, do let us know!
