Error message when installing VMware on Ubuntu: Kernel headers not found

I recently added VMware to my Ubuntu system but when I try to open it, I keep getting this odd error message: Kernel headers were not found. Anyone seen this before? What can I do?

    Have you installed the linux-headers-generic package? This will install the latest linux-headers package.
