Error message when restoring .BAK file on SQL Server

I've been trying to restore a .BAK file on SQL Server for the past few days but I keep getting this error message:
Msg 3241, Level 16, State 7, Line 1 The media family on device 'c:glynJA.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family.
I've tried several queries on 2008 and 2012 but nothing is working! What should I do here? Thank you.

Seems like the backup file is corrupted. You can do a RESTORE VERIFYONLY to confirm if the backup file is usable.

    RESTORE VERIFYONLY
    FROM DISK='c:\glynJA.bak'
    GO
    IF @@ERROR = 0
    BEGIN
       PRINT ‘Backup usable'
    END
    ELSE
    BEGIN
        PRINT ‘Backup not usable'
    END
    GO
