Does it require/available any special DB design for the application with cloud capability? We need to design database for our new new project application. Any one please suggest if using DB Design especially for cloud capability.

Probably not, but you would have to specify what you mean by 'cloud capability', since it could mean several different things.  The answer could depend on that.

Sorry for the confusion. I want to add some more points regarding my question.

    1) We have planned to create database and use for CRM Applications with cloud capability. Can you please suggest which database(Oracle or NoSQL DB) is best for the CRM Application of cloud environment?

Actually, we might have many records like historical reports/records etc...
In this scenarios if expected records are huge, which is benifical Oracle or NOSQL ?

    2) DB Design in Oracle DB
Generally, we are using ER Diagram to design our Oracle database.
Shall i use this ER Diagram (or) Any other DB Design methodology is there for cloud capability?

    3) DB Design in NoSQL DB
If we use NoSQL DB, we could not use ER Diagram for the same? Have to use UML Diagram. My understanding is correct. Please clarify me?

Really helpful to me if i receive the reply for this questions.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the additional details.

But it is still important that you clarify what you mean by 'cloud capability'.  Please be as specific as possible.

To overcome the limitations of 40-year-old relational database technology for use with modern web applications.
Today, enterprises are adopting NoSQL for a growing number of uses cases, a choice that is driven by four interrelated megatrends: Big Users, Big Data, the Internet of Things, and Cloud Computing.

Clod computing / Cloud access in application

Dont consider only about cloud. Just provide the solution for the below question.

Shall we use NoSQL database for storing and accessing large volumes of non-transactional data? Any challenges is there at the time of using NoSQL DB?

It is hard to suggest without a much deeper knowledge of the application that is being developed.

If your application requires complex relationships between different sets of data and will need to perform complex queries, then you most likely will need to use a RDBMS (or build the 'joining' capabilities within your application).  NoSQL databases offer scalability and performance but lack some of the features that RDBMS have.

I suggest to read the following document : NoSQL and SQL Introspective
