Due date marks Microsoft Outlook email as red

So every once in a while, a co-worker will send me an email where he/she adds a due date on it. So when I see it, the subject line is actually in red. I don't mind it because it's basically a reminder on getting work done. But if I reply to it (or archive), it stays red. Can I mark it as completed so it's not red anymore?

    Open Outlook, click View > Arrange by > Current View > Customize Current View > Automatic Formatting. Also check to see if there is a rule to set the color.
